Ardhanarishvara stands in a fluid tribhanga, the body divided yet seamlessly joined along a central axis that holds Shiva and Parvati within a single, continuous form. The lateral curve defines the composition, with Parvati’s side articulated through fuller ornament and contour, while Shiva’s side retains a more restrained, ascetic clarity. The stance resolves this duality into a balanced, unified presence.

The prabhavali rises as a field of deliberate contrast. On Parvati’s side, dense foliage unfolds in intricate detail, suggesting growth and generative continuity. Opposite, the surface sharpens into flame-like projections associated with Shiva, marking transformation and dissolution. These opposing visual languages ascend and meet at the apex in the form of the linga, establishing a cyclical vision of creation and destruction.

At the base, a ram appears along Shiva’s side, an uncommon yet deliberate inclusion that aligns with his fierce and untamed aspects, reinforcing potency and raw energy. On Parvati’s side, Nandi is seated, his composed presence introducing stability and devotion within the same field.

Cast in bronze using the lost-wax method, the sculpture carries a variegated patina that settles into its intricate surfaces. The form holds a poised equilibrium, where contrast remains contained within unity.
