Hand-Carved Wooden Double Door with Metal Stud Work – Traditional Indian Entryway

A full-scale wooden door composed as a double-leaf entry, set within a deeply carved frame that draws the eye inward through layers of pattern and structure. The surface is organised into panels bordered by a dense field of metal studs, creating a steady, repeating rhythm that both protects and animates the wood.

Crafted from solid timber, the door carries a sense of durability shaped for everyday use. The carving is confident and clearly cut: floral forms rise within recessed panels, while surrounding bands hold geometric and vegetal patterns in controlled repetition. The studs, individually placed, strengthen the surface while introducing contrast through their darker patina against the warmer tone of the wood.

At the top, three pots of plenty (Purna Ghata) release flowering vegetation in spreading forms: an established symbol of abundance and continuity. Positioned above the doorway, this motif marks the act of entry with an assertion of prosperity.
