An arched frame rises above this double door, where a mesh-lined transom introduces permeability before the eye settles on the carved wooden panels below. Each panel carries dense foliage motifs, their curling forms contained within recessed frames, creating a controlled interplay between movement and structure.

 

Flanking shutters fitted with vertical iron grilles extend the composition outward, allowing light and air to pass while maintaining enclosure. This combination of solid carving and openwork establishes a layered threshold, where visibility and privacy remain in balance.

 

At the centre of the lintel, the inscription “Shri Ganeshaya Namah” is set within a carved plaque, invoking auspicious beginnings and the removal of obstacles at the point of entry. The placement is deliberate, marking the act of crossing as both physical and symbolic.

 

The wood holds a warm, natural tone, its surface gently worn, allowing carving, script, and structure to come together as a cohesive architectural presence.
