Goddess Ganga on Makara Mount With Lotus Pedestal Swamimali Bronze

Framed by the arch of the Kalpavriksha, the wish-fulfilling tree envisioned as a source of abundant life, the river goddess Ganga is presented as a sustaining force at the centre of a living cosmos.

Her hair rises into a high, structured bun from which emerges the hood of a naga, linking her directly to the elemental world of water, fertility, and renewal. This association with serpentine beings reinforces her identity as a life-giver, connected to rivers, earth, and the cyclical regeneration of nature.

The naga motif appears again as an ornament on her arm, integrating symbolism into her adornment rather than separating it from the body.
