Goddess Saraswati sits at the centre in a balanced, cross-legged posture, the veena resting diagonally across her body. Her hands move in measured coordination across the instrument, while her gaze remains steady and frontal, drawing attention to the act of playing rather than outward display.

The figure is built through dense ornament and controlled line. Jewellery follows the contours of the body without breaking its clarity, while the layered garments spread outward in a rhythmic base that stabilises the seated form. The mandapam arch frames her closely, its surface worked with repeating detail and anchored by a kirtimukha at the apex. Suspended elements hang within the arch, directing the eye downward toward the figure.

On either side, attendants stand in mirrored positions, their raised arms echoing the central rhythm. Above, flying figures emerge against a blue ground, extending the space beyond the architectural frame. The colour holds in soft blues, reds, and gold, while the aged wooden frame encloses the work with a quiet, time-worn presence suited to sustained viewing.
