Vishnu descends in a charged diagonal, mounted on Garuda, his forward-leaning form cutting through the composition toward the struggling elephant below. This downward thrust becomes the visual anchor, directing the eye from the poised deity to the moment of intervention. One hand extends with controlled intent, while the other holds attributes that stabilise the dynamic movement.

At the base, Gajendra is caught in the grip of the crocodile, its jaws locked around the elephant’s leg, creating a tense counterforce that pulls the composition downward. The opposing diagonals of ascent and restraint generate a tightly held visual conflict. Nearby, the released form of Huhu, the Gandharva, emerges from the broken hold, marking the moment of liberation within the same spatial field.
