Wooden Krishna Lila Wall Panel - Vishnu, Venugopala and Kaliya Mardana

The panel unfolds as a continuous narrative of Krishna and Vishnu, arranged in a rhythmic horizontal sequence that guides the eye from one form to the next. This structured progression becomes the defining presence, where multiple manifestations are held within a single visual field.

At one end, Vishnu stands in a composed four-armed form, establishing a stable point of origin. The composition then transitions into Krishna as Venugopala, the four-armed fluting figure introducing a softer, inward rhythm.

At the centre, Vishnu appears reclining on Shesha, expanding the narrative into a cosmic register, before returning to movement with Krishna subduing Kaliya, the serpent rendered in dynamic curvature.

Each scene is framed by lotus bases and dense vegetal backdrops, with attendant figures placed in rhythmic intervals, creating continuity across the panel. The figures are carved in high relief, allowing gestures, ornaments, and postures to remain clearly articulated despite the compact scale.

The polychrome surface intensifies the depth, with greens, reds, and gold-toned accents settling into the carved layers. In wood, the panel holds warmth and intricacy, allowing light to move across its surface, revealing the narrative gradually within an interior setting.
